Its all about teams. Some programs are consistently high quality, but even that depends on how you define it. If its just winning titles, then FSU>UNC>UVA ..then the rest. Clemson,Duke,NC State, Louisville, Notre Dame etc come and go. The best kids want weather, facilities and staff. Most conferences have at least one decent team.

I agree with most of what you say. I think you’re underselling how strong the 2nd tier of the ACC is. The Clemsons, Louisvilles, Dukes, etc of the ACC would be better than all but the occasional “outlier” best teams from the other conferences. The depth of the ACC is crazy.

When you lose to URI, you are really bad.

Louisville only beat the bottom 1/3 of ACC only. They lost to Dayton and Western Kentucky. Some of these teams are no different than BC.

Yet if they played outside the ACC/Power 5 they'd dominate. The depth in the conference and teams is redic.

Poster said Louisville lost to all teams outside the conf including Dayton and Western Kentucky. So there's that.

They dominated URI why they lost tho.

Not underselling, but they tend to be strong in waves based on getting a good class or 2. Duke are consistently good. I think teams like ND, BC that once upon a time were good based on the reputation of the schools have a tougher time now as they play in worse weather and in BC case, was turf. Penn State tends to be the spot for kids who dont mind colder weather in the NE now and even they are up and down vs the really good teams in other conferences. Good enough to dominate conference at times, but ...

Duke like UVA is a head scratcher. They have the great weather advantage. UVA's Swanson (like PSU head coach) is on USWNT senior team staff so get to see pipeline.

But for both Duke and UVA, that College Cup/national championship continues to be out of reach.

Headscrather how? Weather advantage over who? UNC? FSU? California? Nope. Both schools have been slower in adding foreign players for good reason imo. Both have been slower to embrace aggressive use of sub rule. With all that said, I think UVA have one of the longest tourney streaks alive and continue to turn out kids who seem to do better than projected at the pro level as opposed to some other schools where kids who have been hyped throughout College dont live up to the hype. Winning a title does not make a program. In my opinion consistent excellence does.

Back down. I am a Duke and UVA fan too. They have the weather advantage over most other schools , including FSU (area is unbearably hot and humid from now until mid October really).

Duke has had a number of foreign nationals over the years. UVa has added very few.
Not over subbing is a strength not a weakness. The past several title winners at the college cup do not over sub either.

I thought Duke was the better team when they were knocked out in pk's vs Cup winner UCLA a few yrs ago. And UVa should have won that final vs FlState (fsu's 1st cup). It is just unfortunate that they haven't.

And like all the other consistently excellent programs are usually ranked in top 25 throughout the season and at end. Stanford is exception this crazy past year.

Hahahaha. Somebody's kid is either at, looking at, being recruited by or transferring to duke or uva. These posters are so transparent.

Well you do seem a little overzealous. And are now somewhat testy because some poster questioned your opinion with their opinion.

I guess only your opinion matters. Typical on this mASS board.
