She had a track record of producing results to attract them and she knew from experience how to ID good players. The strongest players at BC right now are her recruits and the ones who left are all doing well at strong schools (SC at PSU, GM at FSU, KD at Brown, etc.).

Since there is all this silly discussion of possession vs direct or “smash mouth” or whatever dumb made-up thing you want to call American college soccer, I’ll add that these BC players have moved onto different playing styles/systems with relative ease. It’s ridiculous to think BC (or other) players can only play one style. A lot of this is coaching, or rather failure to coach.

Has KD played? Brown did not have a soccer season. Her bio says did not play due to Covid.
AF had misfires too. Others left and don't see the field or dropped off tbe map (YY).

Players transferred to better teams and are doing well. Several players also decommitted. BC is no longer able to attract local players, which most colleges rely on. No new players are going to fix this.

Agreed about the FIFA rules and UNC.

Subbing is fine. Too many and/or too mamy times is a problem and was causing confusion on field with UNC according to commentators.

I dont listen to the commentators. They are mostly reading from a script.

No, she didn’t. She was injured her last season at BC if I remember correctly. But still attractive enough to transfer to Brown.

No one saying that AF walked on water and her recruits always panned out, but most coaches would love her track record. If another coach had a Kristie Mewis on their bio, that would be enough. What’s the chance that JL has that success?

Thank goodness the college cup had good ones. The prior games were horrible as far as commentators. They were talking about everything but the game. Who cares about a cousin 3 x's removed that won 1st place in ice fishing; or other nonsense.

And while they lost to tournament winner Stanford, the next season there was a rematch.
And Mewis had a sweet assist to help BC to a 1-1 draw vs the ncaa champ, stanford.

BC will be just fine without a top women’s soccer program. They dont care, frankly, as it is not at the top of it’s sports priority list. They have plenty of money, and plenty sports that serve them well.

There are parents or alumnae that come on TS and want coach tossed (which happened with AF), AD run out if town, and more due to the lack of success of BC's womens soccer team.
