Honestly if I was a HS/club coach I wouldn't go anywhere near private texting. It's just not worth it. Even if you're totally on the up and up in our day and age you are one misunderstanding away from a crapload of trouble. Why risk it when there are other ways to communicate?

If my D coach ever did that, I would find it weird and pull her immediately. Certainly not appropriate at any level.

I was aware of a few coaches doing this at Stars.

This is a trash thread. Multiple emails at beginning of each year re: Safe Sport from Stars - just like other clubs, I am sure. They strictly adhere to it.
