If they are only promoting clubs that first enter the ECRL, that's a clever strategy of promoting that league. I am pretty sure that in the ECRL marketing presentation this was the intention but nobody believed it.

For a good club like NEFC it becomes super rough to try and improve when you only play against clubs like Cedar Stars, Select, Oakwood and Seacoast every week. I'm not talking about those 4 clubs in general but the competitiveness of those clubs each year. All 4 of those clubs will have 1 really good age division but the majority of age divisions are very, very meh.
