So we've got a thread bashing the U13 rising Explosion coach and a thread on Western's U13s and Scorpions U13s. What is it with this age group? Is it the age, the people or the water they drink? Rising U12s and U14s seem pretty quiet and nobody's even heard from the rising U11s. Rising U15s and U17s have kept it to one thread. The only other age group that comes close is the rising U16s.

It's the first year they will compete in SC. They need to train harder, recruit better players, and of course, spend more money on clinics, private lessons, etc... Once the foolish parent buys in to all this hype, they get a big let down when Precious or her team doesn't perform well. This then leads to other threads about club jumping, etc... It’s a vicious cycle.

It's a lack of perspective, understanding and knowledge. Remember most parents of youth soccer players never played the game either, so they really have nothing to ground them. Then as noted above all of a sudden the are playing "premier" soccer and involved in the state cup. Matters are worse because they have no experience at what goes on over the next few critical developmental years. So their child and their child's team and coacg are the best. And so much better than those U14 kids they played with in town soccer this past fall and so on and so forth. I think they get worse at U14 and then by U15 they start to get a little perspective based on two years of reality hitting them in the face.
