However, if restrictions are removed, what makes you think the general populace will be flocking back to these places?
Will there be a pent up demand? Of course and I hope restaurants are able to reap the benefit.
But it will be awhile before myself and people I know are indoor dining, flying, bar hopping, music venue visiting, or even going to church.
    That landscape has irrevocably changed.

And aside from that % of the workforce, life and work has gone on.
Few on this website, other than a partial season, have been affected (kids and school aside)
Great. So are you OK with people you don't know doing all the things you say the people you do know won't do?

No, what I’m saying is I’m tired of it all being blamed on government shutdowns.
They are doing the best they can to prevent more death-can they fix stupid and selfish?
      No.
The lifting of all restrictions will not fix the service and hospitality revenue problem. Too many folk will follow the guidelines and do their best to not contract nor spread the covid. It may take years for things to return to normal.
It will take even longer and cause more pain to said industries if people remain selfish, stupid, ignorant, and Trump supporters.

It won't take that long but I agree many people won't go rushing back to bars, restaurants or indoor entertainment and travel until they feel it's safe. That requires either themselves getting vaccinated or very low case numbers. Some people won't get vaccinated but that's their own problem. By late early summer enough will be vax'd so that case numbers won't be too bad and facilities won't face being over run. We'd love to plan a family trip for the summer but can we be certain we will all be vaccinated by then? Perhaps we plan something we can drive to rather than fly, but we're confident we will be able to do something. As numbers go down in the spring bars and restaurants can operate outdoors in better weather, which helps bring back consumer confidence as well.

Got it. Kinda like your last statement that shows you still view this as a political thing, and blame it all on Trump and his supporters. Try, just try, to have an intellectual conversation without devolving to Hatfield and McCoy hillbilly logic. Of course a percentage of the population will refrain from many activities, just as a percentage will resume, and that will certainly help.

Show some compassion for other people and learn to be more inclusive of those whose context differs from yours. Seek to understand that context before applying what I know to you is a de-humanizing label (Trump supporter, con) that dismisses people and their viewpoints. Just goes to show, despite all of "education" infrastructure in MA, tolerance is oft defeated by ignorance and mono-culture. Think like me, be like me, or your dumb

That's where targeted support would have the most impact - the businesses that simply can't go back to full operations for awhile and their still unemployed staff. Many others have figured out ways around restrictions. While they're not flourishing they're at least getting by. Restaurants can do take out but total volume is still down and when you've got rent and other bills to pay it's a struggle to stay afloat. Forget bars for take out. Small music venues may never reopen having lost door sales and booze. $600 to everyone is a waste of money - many people are working and don't "need" the money.

Sure, i’ll show some compassion and thank them for not wearing a mask.
They are all separate adjectives, able to stand on their own.
You assigned them all to trump voters. I did not.
              But, if the shoe fits...

How do you start to pick and any choose which citizens get the money and which do not? that will devolve into a red-state blue-state grid lock in a fraction of a second like every single thing always does.

The only way to help anyone is to seemingly help everyone or nothing will ever ever happen.

Plus it just gets money flowing into the economy as incredibly imprecise it is.

Give it to the unemployed, not the employed. There's a simple place to start. Pretty easy for businesses to prove they're practically out of business...

You think the us govt reps are going to vote to give help to the black and brown and poor folks that are suffering the most in the pandemic? some will and some will not. All that matters is the voters get enough or that enough is denied to the voters of the other party for the reps to run on next time around.

Heroine: a woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

sounds like lots of these young players so what is wrong with that?

Now Mitch needs to make them all vote on giving out Trumps $2000 checks! This will be fun to watch!
