many complain about florida but their total deaths in states with similar populations such as California, New york, and texas. Florida has the lowest amount of covid deaths yet they haven't shut down the way the other states have. Even compared to Mass just about 12,000 deaths with a population of 6,000,000 the death rate of mass is twice that of florida go figure seeing you are all high and mighty and worried about Florida not following mandates. No one is placing the clubs opinion above a medical expert

They are looking at the statistics themselves and concluding that the risk is one that they are comfortable taking

Ever think the epidemiologist are overly cautious. If you, yourself, were asked to give guidance, and knew that you would be blamed for a policy that was later deemed to be too lax, what would you do? Regardless of what your true assessment of that data was, you would overcompensate with you guidance so that you could not possibly be blamed. The guidance is as much CYA as it is scientific.

I saw posted earlier that the CDC website warns that the best way to stop the spread of STD is to abstain from sex. Are you following that expert guidance? If not, you are using your own circumstances and opinion to make your own decision because you think it’s safe. Same as the guy who wants to go to Florida safely.

While your blaming businesses for, you know, conducting business, let’s make sure to blame the airlines, rental car companies, hotels and other services that make these poor choices possible. Let’s ask gas stations to shut down, I mean who needs gas if you can’t travel. Let’s shut down the internet so these tournaments can’t be advertised. I’d keep going but I’m going to shut off my phone so that I don’t become further infected by the ideas of freedom, liberty and free thought.

I suspect it's more families telling clubs "we're not going" so clubs don't have much of choice but to bail out. As more teams bail the appeal of going drops as well
