Goalies in U-13. I have 2 daughters in this age group so unfortunately-lol I watch alot of U-13 soccer. Over the years I have seen 3 very talented goalies while they played in U-little. I thought the NEFC GA, Stars ECNL and former Select goalie who I believe moved over to Scorpions ECNL, were all very good and have the talent to go far. Goalie is a tough position, especially when they are little, but those 3 goalies showed alot. It should be fun watching those 3 as they get older.

As the girls get older goalies become so important when games become low scoring. You need a goalie that is solid. Im not familiar with these girls, but glad to hear there are some good younger goalies coming up in Massachusetts

I don't know these girls but U13/U14 is where things get interesting for keepers. Those who got by on their athleticism at u-little on the smaller nets now have to learn the technical aspects of the position. Always best to start as a great athlete (and some genetics for height) but it only will take a girl so far. Lots of work ahead for these 12 and 12 year olds.

Anyone know what is going on with surf RI? Rumblings that 08 team has alot of infighting. Each week starting right after Thanksgiving my daughter’s team has had a RI surf girl at practice. Wouldnt be surprised if several of the girls leave next year. My guess is that they overpromised parents as they always do. This team should be better than playing in the last division of Jefferson Cup in 08’s. U-13 Coaches are probably circling all over Surf RI.

The best way to out a little time between the other teams goals.

Havent seen her at the Scorpions because Liverpool never plays them, but it would go without saying that she must be punting the ball very well. My point of posting was to give credit to a little girl on another team. I never said anything about USNT. I just remembered her when my daughter played her.

I think the main issue is that goalie punting in U-10/11 is not something that should be happening much. That's the coaches fault, not the players though. But a "goalie assist to the striker," while it works on the small field and may seem fun, is not helping with player development for the goalie or anybody else.

Is everyone on the same page that 2008 is 11v11 on the large field? I've yet to see a consistent corner kick to the goal from any 2008 this season, nevermind a 40 yard punt to a striker for a quick score. That will come in due time but right now these players are adjusting to the 4-6 miles they're running each game while trying to learn proper positioning.
