After letting the 8am games go on in pouring rain at freezing temps, the boneheads who were running the tournament decided to let the games after 9:30 start in heavy snow. Went on for another hour before finally calling it at halftime. Even heard a coach yell at the ref to end the game since you couldn’t see the lines on the field. Seriously a waste of time and dangerous!

Also. Tomorrow’s games should be cancelled now and they shouldn’t be making
people wait until the morning. It’s over.

Usually, the tournament decides when to end games, not the refs, especially in Lancaster where the tourney officials usually are. GPS did run a tourney one day March 2019 where the lines were covered in snow at the 1st game's half time. Refs were required to continue working through the end of the second game at which point the tournament called it for the day.

Refs ALWAYS have the option to discontinue matches if they feel it isn’t safe. Period.

So do coaches. You pull your players off the field if it isn’t safe. But the tournament organizers shouldn’t have to put coaches or refs in that position, they should have the sense to call it before the game. There is this thing called the internet and weather apps these days...
