For a fit person/kid, it takes less than 30 min to run a 5k. It helps build aerobic conditioning as well as leg muscles without cutting into the time of the anaerobic and technical training that everyone has mentioned. For any kids who play midfield endurance is key. This can help when paired with sprinting/HIIT and footwork. It doesn’t have to be an either-or scenario. Look at pros - most hit the treadmill on the regular.

Find another club for a month of training with younger players 2 nights a week max and have to sit out for games and pay x amount? Sounds like time would be better spent with x country and conditioning and having a private soccer coach once a week if possible and work on technique and touch on the weekends.
