Although they were da teams the reality is it is an indication of where girls soccer is in general. The clubs, all of them, are in for a tougher time ahead than many people want to accept. GA may never get off the ground. ECNL and even NPL are nowhere near insulated. Their member clubs are just as f’ed. They all rely on revenue that simply will not be there. Whatever we have in summer 21, when we actually get back, is gonna look way different than what we think we have now. Half the kids who spend a year not playing will just drop anyway.

Now it's summer 21. How is it that some people (and apparently some news networks) seem to revel in the notion that life as we know it is over. If they put half as much effort into figuring out how we can fight this thing in a rational way instead of trying to uncover the worst possible outcome and all the ways we've failed to date we might have a chance of solving this problem some time soon.

Murphy’s law. What can go wrong will go wrong. Without a vaccine we are screwed. It totally sucks but it’s what is realistic. Remember a month ago people talked about Memorial Day weekend tournaments. Now people finally realize fall sports are fcked. The whole thing stinks but perhaps it may expedite some changes for the good. Like less travel and less dependence on absurd “badges” and leagues that cost so much money.

Right. And no more wasteful spending on “scholarships” for kids who can kick balls. Save the money for students.

Most soccer scholarships are just a carrot to get kids to come to a school. They are still paying a good amount of an inflated price to attend. Do you really think many colleges are known for their soccer programs. Soccer is simply a student activity. It brings no revenue. So basically, kids are just joining a team, at a school that they may or may not want to attend.

Current HS students of recruiting age won't ever play for colleges. Hope they have a backup plan for where they are going and how they are paying for it.

There won't be any fall sports until at least 2024.

Dude get real. The next place we will have sports is on the moon base where we will guarantee no covid. Maybe 2050? Otherwise someone might get sick if we do it on earth. Remember flatten the curve, well that is out and no one ever having the chance of being infected is the new requirement to play sports and open society back up.
