    Facilities

Do people realize that places like Forekicks are not returning spring field rental payments! Part of the reason clubs can’t return tuitions.

Not surprised, they still have to pay their mortgages and property taxes.

I’m in this business. I can tell you that facilities expense make up about 10-15% of costs. If a club says they have to keep 15% due to fixed costs, the consumer should trust that. However, several big clubs are giving zero refund.

10-15? What facility? Do you know Forekicks prices?

Facilities costs vary. If you use Forekicks then they will be a huge portion of your expenses.

10-15% of the costs of running a club. By far the biggest expense is payroll for club management and coaches, which is normally about 50-60%; but if there are no practices and games, then you don’t need to be paying coaches with parents’ deposits.

Precisely why charge backs make sense. $2700 for services not received - yah not acceptable.

That seems very low ...... must be a facility with 1 field and no lights

Many clubs are trying to pay their coaches, which as you said is their largest expense. There hasn't been an official kill of the season so no one will return anything until that happens. Clubs that are providing on line learning can argue they are providing a service, just as colleges are. Yes we know it isn't the same thing, but legally that case can probably be made.

If the season is killed, savvy clubs will try to give credits and some refunds because they know good will helps keep you in business. Some clubs may not be able to do much though.

If coaches can get through the system they should qualify for unemployment or other assistance as independent workers. Big IF.

That seems a tad low, but my point was these clubs have paid for field space they are not using, kids played in the fall and over the winter. Winter is more expensive than both seasons of outdoor (rental costs). I would bet field expenses would be around 25% fall/spring and 50% winter (rental costs). Programs also paid for tournaments, league fees and uniforms. So really the only savings the club has is salary for a portion of the playing year.

It was messaged to us by our club that they are still hoping to get on the fields for training mid-May and that there will be some sort of season offered. There will also likely be a credit towards next year, depending on how the remainder of the season goes. That's all we can ask for.

I understand getting upset over a lack of communication, but the entire situation has been difficult for everyone. Have to stay positive.

Which club? I have not heard of any club committing to a credit/rebate yet.
