What makes you so confident we wont be playing next March?

It’s a small deposit now, not the whole thing. Also, you severely underestimate what the demand is for an ECNL spot. It’s a sellers market, not a buyers market at that level. Now, if you were talking about a regional NEFC or GPS team, I’d agree with you to some extent.

Better question is are you that stupid?
College coach needs to know you are playing, and continuing to improve and prepare for when you join their team. Sure you could present an alternative plan such as committing to that includes personal trainer time, skills sessions, and playing for another club/league, maybe even joining a male adult rec league. You could do that, but maybe, just maybe, his daughter likes playing with her team, and that is the best pathway for her, and the most familiar pathway for her college coach.

Sounds more an more like you really have no experience with D1 recruiting and post commitment requirements. Maybe you're the guy whose proud of his Academic D3 kid, if so great, but please refrain from sharing opinions on D1

This is so FAKE. If your kid is a good player, they will have a roster spot when soccer resumes. Nobody is plYing soccer right now. Everyone is in the same boat. If it’s even true that your kid is a future D1 player, their future coach is not going to hold it against her, for not putting a deposit down until we can be certain there will be a season.

You make no sense. Show me where I said any of the following:
That kids aren't communicating with coach?
That only ECNL kids get recruited at D1?
That I know more than anyone else?

I did ask if you had any D1 experience, and if you had better alternatives?
I remain interested in both answers

First off Pal if you think for 1 min that a college coach is demanding her to sign up to play ECNL you're wrong. With the current climate coaches know where players stand and ther are no alternatives at the present moment. You never stated if you are communicating with the coach and I suggested that if you're not than same on you
You imply everything you ask me so don't act all high and mighty and I have plenty of recruiting experience for the record I don't need to justify it to you

                      You guys seem really angry.
Some Dad let you know he paid a deposit. Seems like a Scorps family given the timing.
My D plays with Stars, all players have been guaranteed a spot (not a team).
When her offer (invoice) appears in my inbox I will make a deposit too.

The Scorps dad said he was fine with it, he can share his reasons if he chooses, but mine are pretty straightforward: She likes the team, they stay connected, if HS cancels it might offer an option to do something in the fall, and finally, her college coach insists she remain affiliated with a competitive team her senior year of HS. no he didn't insist on ECNL, but she likes her team. This is an easy decision for us. Why does it make you so angry?

                          Ditto.

So why would call us stupid, and jackasses,
I shared my reasons, and defended another who shared his

                            Dear Dad,
We are glad your daughter is a D1 recruit. Please we beg you to stop with the back and forth with the other Dad. You both have implied things of different experiences etc. You don't know each other or player. Be happy she is going D1 and stop inviting the stupidity.
                            Thanks

Agree with this. The deposit is tiny anyhow. Just think of the time spent arguing about it on this forum.
