So the left out DA clubs new league is GAL (Girls Academy League) for the A teams and DPL (Development Players League) for the B teams? This is exactly what we need, not one but two new leagues!

ECNL now has 90% of the top clubs nation wide and they have been grabbing top players from the excluded clubs all over the country. So confused about why GAL/DPL is needed when there is NPL?

Isn't NPL now ECNL regional? The whole set up is bad across the board US Soccer needs to redefine the leagues etc.

I have no idea if above is true, but it makes perfect sense.

This may further dilute the soccer landscape, but it preserves fantasy of being on top, and that's the product.

What are you talking about? New England NPL was renamed to NPL A for the NEP league last year.

NPL isn’t an option because when ussf created DA and ECNL created the ECRL, the NPL had to fill in the void all those teams left. So npl added town level teams and clubs and now they won’t just boot them out, anyway.

So what will the standard before for this league? Will it try to be like the GDA with no high school and 4 practices a week with games in the fall?
I don’t get why clubs need to rush into making a new league or creating a new region of a league this coming year? If I was nefc or sss I would have my top teams play NPL for a year then see what the soccer landscape looks like in 2021. For sss wouldn’t be that bad seeing they were NPL last year.
Also would give parents a chance to save money on travel.
