Agreed that it’s a fair question. My bet is that a certain percentage (maybe 10-30%) would look to head to ECNL. Select kids would move to Scorpions. Stars (Lancaster) is too far for most of us.
NEFC families would be closer to Stars I assume, but Scorpions (Taunton) may be drivable as well.
you need to factor in that as the travel burden and cost goes down - more strong players will be in the pool to join these clubs. The level of play can increase for the more localized competition.
I doubt that. There are not a substantial amount of highly skilled players that are not already playing in a heavy duty travel league.

Question to the NEFC, SSS people. If GDA folded and your clubs top teams were in NPL, are you sticking it out or trying to get on an ECNL roster?
If you read this ^ post and don’t look deeper into the real reason the Courage left the DA was because the average distance for them to travel to regular season games was 400 miles away and they were losing coaches and players than you’re a sheep. Go back about 100 posts on this thread...like those old Prego spaghetti sauce commercials used to say, “it’s in there!”

Neither club offers better coaching or facilities than what NEFC or Select offer. Not enough substance at either club to justify moving.....much less traveling all the way to Lancaster or Taunton 3-4 nights a week.

Stars has their own facility, which is very nice. So is NEFC’s facility in Mendon. So is Forekicks in Taunton where Scorpions train. Select trains at a middle school.
Nefc, Stars & Scorpions all have solid coaches at the ECNL/GDA level.

Plenty of confidence assuming GDA is failing. While the ECNL clubs take the fall off and play kick ball (ahem high school soccer) the GDA is playing and training against/with better players. Some girls dream of peaking in high school and some girls dream/pursue a college soccer career or beyond. To each his/her own.

Correction: Select trains at Union Point at the new turf fields at the former Weymouth Naval Air Base. And they own their own indoor facility right off Exit 15 in Hingham next door to Derby Street Shops and Pilgrim Hockey Rink.
