If the larger community ever wants to resolve the GDA vs. ECNL thing in a way that's actually helpful to the girls (rather than the organizers' egos), then there's going to have to be a lot of people swallowing their pride.

Never happen. USSoccer has a vision that not enough buy into and not based on reality. ECNL would rather position that you have to drive 4 hours to get a game. If you play a team nearby, it loses the "Elite" mystique.

Just accept it and move on. Pick the club and team (and coach) that best fits your situation, location, goals, etc. and just play. This pizzing contest back and forth does nothing other than to try to prop up mom's ego.

Think of the leagues as Landlords, the club as retail stores and soccer families as consumers. If the GDA loses a club to ECNL, GDA will fill that slot with another club at no economic loss to them. Then the consumer must choose whether they are willing to travel further to shop at whole foods or prefer the local shoprite. However no matter how much you like one over the other they are not going to put two in the same stripmall. And most likely there are enough consumers for both.

I got one kid in a GDA club and another an ECNL club, so my ego doesn’t get props either way. I’m not even a mom. I just rather they sort their ****e out.

If you know anything about girls club soccer then you know that it has been incredibly disruptive for many seasons. Age changes, launch of the gda, faltering if the gda, clubs in and out of leagues, players on a merry go round of teams.....on and on and on. It has affected almost all the players and their families.

Where have I been? I've been in GDA. The kids show up, practice, watch their videos, do their fitness and testing, play their games, talk to coaches, etc. Before, they showed up, practiced, played their games, etc.

Now we travel to play games vs. staying local to play crap teams. Oh well. Nobody forced us to do anything. You?

Then why are you doing it? I don't understand what you are complaining about. Don't like something, do something else. Whining about it doesn't solve it.

Exactly. And that has been the your soccer experience for so many girls lately. Searching for quality teams, leagues, organizations, honestly, effective communication. What is sold vs what is reality are very different things. Your experience is the exception so lucky you

Again, just find another spot to play. Every league has their warts and find one that works for you and commit to it. Spending time trashing anything really serves no purpose.

Some like to wallow in negativity. I just don't get it.

We liked our club before, and like it as much (if not more) now. To each their own.
