what should i do for playing time?

Hi,

The coach of my son's travel team has offered additional playing time if I provide extra services a couple times a week. He is in pretty good shape, has a nice accent and it is fun to see my son play more.

My wife has encouraged me to do what the coach wants. What would the rest of you do?

Well I took one for the team last night. Serviced the coach.. My wife said she still loves me but, made me brush my teeth before kissing her...

Earn it. Here is a 5 step plan to get more playing time.
1) Ask the coach what you need to do to improve.
2) Work on those things at home,
3) Show the coach you have worked on those things at practice and in games.
4) Take feedback from the coach in practice and games and try to do what they asked
5) Finally, Attitude and effort in training and games. Don't let mistakes, corrections and even sometimes embarrassment from getting called out stop you from always working hard.
