Not all non-profits are created equal.

It would be extremely inappropriate to share which players received scholarships... That's confidential information. Not everyone wants to share that they are low income. Why do they have to? Just so you can decide if they are worthy of your $50. Get over yourself!

Just say “NO”. You don’t even have to say it, just don’t write the check and don’t participate in the fundraising. What are they going to do about it?

You can pay their way if you want to.
Would you let your employer take money from your paycheck, to give to new hired “talent”? Why not? Wouldn’t it make your company better?
What a terrible comparison. A better one... college scholarships. Using comments from this board, only rich kids would be able to attend elite colleges. The rest of us can only do what we can afford, which could include no college at all. Why should the rich families have to pay more tuition so that our kids can attend, too? At least club soccer fundraising is mostly optional.

Bad comparison. College financial aid is mainly a government program.

Yes, in the case of clubs most are non profit in name only. Put some pals or compliant parents on the board and you can still do what you want. They're hardly operating like Save the Children

Get sponsors and advertisers, run profitable tournaments. That's how to run your business, Don't ask me for more money. I have other actual charities I want to give my $ to.

                        Then you simply decline.

Fortunately, others take a different view and that money does end up with some kids who appreciate it.

Then play town soccer. Think how much extra money you’ll have for all those other actual charities you care so deeply about. Face it, Lil’ Johnnie only plays fancy soccer so you can brag to people that don’t care anyway.

Then don't participate it's that simple and put your money else where. Most Big clubs do a charity fundraiser and ask for participation you can opt out it's that simple.....By the way you're not putting big money in anyway you're asking people to donate way different than you putting your own money where you want

The clubs can call it a "charity" fundraiser or whatever they want. Calling it charity does not make it charity. I could have a "charity" fundraiser so I can get that bwm I want.

The problem with asking people to donate , is they don’t want to. It’s like asking someone to donate to the golf club or beach club.
