Spring and summer. There's just a lot more of them in the summer. There's hardly any in the fall while college soccer is happening. Both she and coaches can see if there's a fit before having an official date (which isn't allowed until Sept 1 of junior year). She won't have school to worry about and won't be worn out from the club season (but make sure she stays in top shape). Only do the school specific ones and preferably one day. Multi-school events tend to be a waste and multi-day ones are exhausting. They also cost a lot more.
I'm sure other posters will jump on at what a waste of time and money these things are. But for D2 schools that have more limited travel budgets and players who might not play at the top showcases they can serve a purpose. Just make sure there's a possible good fit - look at the rosters of the current players and what level they came from. If your player isn't at a similar level then she's aiming too high. Use your club coach to make phone calls to see if a coach is interest. Well targeted this can be a good avenue. Poorly targeted then you are wasting your time and money
Of course, an academic fit is always paramount
