EK is a very good coach. He is getting a bit old and his recruiting pipeline is not what it used to be. He is always a bit bitter about Revs, Bolts, and DA in general. The better players don't look at BC since they are at the bottom of the ACC. It will be a long road to the top. That is true, looks at the facilities. Even D3 schools have a grass game field. Football and hockey are the priority. Good soccer players want to go where they are going to win and feel special. If you ask a national team level type player ... Ask the BC players and they will tell you they love EK. Great coach. It’s very difficult for BC to recruit against other ACC teams being a cold weather school. Southern kids want to stay in warm weather if they can. This year’s team was very competitive in every game it played.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
The NEFC kids who are on the BC men’s team have been done a huge favor by EK. He got them accepted to BC which is one of the top 25 colleges in the country. It’s his way of giving back to the club. Very few get any significant soccer money to go there (save TD I would guess). They don’t have to go if they don’t want to. Most NEFC kids who EK offers are thrilled to have the opportunity to attend BC even if they may never see the field.Comment
