and club coaches also.It does not matter what you coach and what level as long as you can provide your players with good technical and tactical info that enhances their
    ability to play and improve.
Having a playing background helps to understand how demanding technically the game is.
Unfortunately some forget and instead of encouraging players to try and fail in order to
make progress , coaches focusing on results since the results reflect on them ,they tend
to "punish" players for simple errors that are part of the game.

HS soccer is a black hole for kids soccer development.. Most coaching and overall quality of most teams is dreadful. I feel for the serious kid in a serious club program who now has to spend 3 months away from his club to train with a coach who knows and understands very little about the game and Ill bet , knows less than this poor kid. He probably runs him into the ground and spends hours trying to teach get the ball outside and "send it". He cant speak to the kids on the great SPL or Seria A game last week but will slam the refs for the pass interference call against the Pats .. Its very sad

In high school you are stuck with what you have in the town (unless you are a catholic school). The coaches can't go out there and have all different kids from different towns. Your skill level should be less. Club coaches SHOULD have an easier time developing players and playing "better" soccer but for the most part a lot don't.

Not entirely correct. For example, look at Needham. A-B used to recruit athletes but apparently they stopped a couple of years ago.

Yes, Sheep United played Spud FC. In a riveting match that was 0-0 at halftime. Sadly, the game was called at the start of the second half when the home side ran out of whiskey.

If Celtic played Rangers there certainly was.
