You don't have to play on a college soccer team to continue playing soccer in the future.

Stars U18 United has 17 rostered. 15 kids listed above. Three 2008's in college just returned to team. One 2009 still undecided. One 2012.

Select has is 1 kid commited to LIU not in the list, 2 already in college (wheaton and tufts) and 3 10's about to commit: Northeastern, Marshal, Umass, LIU, Franklin Pierce, Stonehill are in their radar.

      very impressive for both squads!

        thank you!
Although Kids that are undecided want to play soccer. They are being smart on choosing the school that fits their personality and academics.

I'm hoping this thread stays positive since it is one of the only ones that has. In the interest of full disclosure, my daughter plays for a club that is much-bashed on this forum. And it is not MPS.

What I saw in this age group over the last few weeks was some of the best all-around soccer I have seen in my daughter's experience with club. Tight games, good sportsmanship, even impressive sideline behavior by parents. Coaches handled themselves in a way that was very nice to see, and I did not see even a yellow card since the first game of the round robin.

Congratulations to the Selects as they were the best team we've seen all year. And the Stars forced it to PK's despite the fact that they were playing without the best goalkeeper (IMO) in the age group, who now may sit out her first year at Harvard with an ACL injury. But congratulations also to this entire group for making it so much fun to be a part of. Good luck in college next year.

Select also has 2 players committed to Providence and 1 player committed to Central Michigan.

Club soccer at the college level can be the best of both worlds, great competition without the pressure.

I believe Select has all players committed or attending college already except for the 2010s but could be wrong.

                    Yes. All but the youngster.

Aren't they all (except the youngster) going to college anyway? They should be committed at this point. Just because they are going somewhere does it mean that they will be playing soccer, or doesn't mean they are getting any scholarship money. Sit....discuss

Hmmmm. About 98% of 2009s who are planning to go to college next year are committed as well even if they have never touched a soccer ball.
