    Practice Frequency & Length - Girls NPL/ECNL/GDA

There seems to be some variation across clubs for what they offer for Girls NPL/ECNL/GDA. It would be interesting to know how clubs compare in terms of that. I'm only looking at practice time per week, not looking to have this thread debate the merits of each league. For example, are GDA practices 4x/week for 1 hour? 1.5 hours? 2 hours? Same thing with ECNL? NPL?

How may practices per week does each club really provide for the Fall/Spring season? And how long is each practice?

    Girls NPL

    Spring/Fall: (3) 90-minute practices per week and (1) 70-minute game on Sunday

    (4) Tourneys in Fall of 3-4 games, 1 required travel and the rest were within NE

    (3) Tourneys in Spring of 3-4 games, 1 required travel and the rest are/will be within NE

    Winter: (2) 60-minute practices per week and (1) 60-minute strength/fitness training

Various scrimmages around the area amounting to maybe 8-10 games overall indoor

Seems pretty standard for 11v11 ages to do 3 90 minute practices per week Fall/Spring or just Spring if High School. Winter seems to be 2 90 minute sessions.

I can tell you my kids train 6 days per week with ODP practice, club practice, futsal in the winter, strength and conditioning, and cardio. One day completely off for rest and recuperation. 3 practices per week with 4+ teams on a 1/4 field is barely enough touches to make progress and definitely not enough to be game fit. Nice thing about ODP, 1-2 teams per 11v11 field and practices are 2 hours long, including a 30 minute warm-um. Wish more clubs weren't so stingy on field reservations, but that is a huge cost.

DA has added 30 minutes of conditioning to each practice.

It’s agility training. 30 minutes before training twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday.
