Do any clubs work really well with school soccer?

Are there any clubs out there that have a great relationship with middle and high school programs?

Is there anything they do in particular to make that relationship work, or do they just offer their programs evenings and weekends while schools are practicing and playing in the afternoons?

Nefc works very closely with some of the prep schools. Worcester, Rivers, Nobles all week to have a lot of Nefc players on their rosters every year.

NEFC players are third rate though.

Revs are great about letting kids play high school and then discovering them in December and adding them to the roster. Win/win.

All of them. There’s no overlap or kids get waivers.

And they beat everyone around. Mass soccer is really in trouble OR you are.

What would you like to see them do?
                  What is your conflict?

You might consider not overloading your child with too many activities so as to minimize conflict.

As I just posted elsewhere, for many or perhaps for the US, an idea is for the larger clubs to have soccer residences where the school is done and the training follows. They have complete control of the schedule and there are no conflicts.

Our (non-profit, volunteer run) program is outside of the major metro area, so our primary focus is to develop players who can compete in their high school varsity teams, and possibly play some division 3 college.

Ideally we would like to have all the local schools from elementary through high school work with us and point their soccer focused athletes in our direction for year round play and practice.

I'm just wondering what can be done to facilitate that, and be the best path for developing and not over-exerting the players.

In the fall, many of our players play/practice 5 days per week with their middle school, come to 2 of our practices and play a travel game on the weekend. That sounds like a lot of soccer, possibly too much. But for some players, the club environment is definitely more beneficial.

So should we continue as is? Drop fall practices and have games only? Drop fall league play and have weekend practices / 2 tournaments? Anything else we should consider?

While I am sure that is very generous of you to volunteer your time, the public and private school system has very little desire to give up their athletes to any club system. In fact, once in high school, missing practices and games is against the rules and the players will have to miss portions of their high school athletic activities. Furthermore, there is also school work to be done. I’m still not sure what it is you want done to accommodate your club system. Are you asking the schools to let you run practice? Are all the kids on the school teams playing with your club or do they play with other clubs? Would you like the schools to make accommodations to all the clubs that the kids participate furthermore, there is also school work to be done. As you can see, when You get beyond your generous tip of your nose the issue becomes more complicated. The simplest thing for the schools to do is to not worry about the needs of club sports. If the athlete decides not to play school sports and concentrate on club sports then that would be their individual decision but perhaps not the best one in the long run.

My question has obviously come across backwards - I'm not asking what schools can do to accommodate clubs, I'm asking what clubs can do to better accommodate those schools (and the needs of the players) who have soccer coaches who would like their players to develop year round, particularly during the fall season when both school and club soccer are going on.

The fact is that many kids are going to play both school sports and in outside organizations, whether the school likes it or not. The OP is asking how he can organize his club to work best with the demands the school puts on those athletes, to not burn them out and to make the experience good for the kids who want to train year round. He's not asking the school to do anything. Came across very clear.

OP, I would suggest a minimal fall schedule. Either games only or one training per week and one game, and then ramp it up at the conclusion of fall season. Kudos to you for filling this need. There are many kids out there whose soccer aspirations end at high school. Nice to see an org who understands that and wants to help them be the best players they can be at their chosen level. Some posters on TS don't truly love the game, they only love DA or D1 college soccer or whatnot.

Many HS coaches are involved in club soccer. Some will push their kids to their own programs or elsewhere. It's in their best interest to have as many kids playing club as possible. Doing club in the fall during HS is a recipe for injury and burnout. There's a reason there's very little club activity then.
