You are NOT in good company. Condolences are in order. Anyone else as close to insufferable as BTDT should be as far away from a site like this as possible....and somewhere where you have to ask for smoke breaks and off-grounds privileges.

Noting that Vangjel Gjergo hasn't committed. Any info on how VG got to NoQuincy HS, as in was he sent by a college there?

They all act like it's full boat. Don't get me wrong, it's an accomplishment for the boys and I wish them the best. It's the nutjob parents misrepresenting things that make me happy we're almost at the end of this process.
This thread should then be titled “2018 boys aggrering to play college soccer” then.

Why, for perpetuating a lie? This guy is nothing but a pr agent for the local clubs. The sad part is he is dropping the bar low and making it seem even playing at the lowliest levels of college soccer is done great and commonplace thing.

The OP is not the PR agent. He lists colleges alphabetically by division. Then someone else came in and separated the kids by club, even including kids in new clubs possibly after they committed. Let’s get back to the original list. I don’t have any sense he has skin in the game.

Happy New Year. Maybe relax a little and take an early sip of champagne.

These are verbal commitments. The commitment is not about giving $$, although in some cases there is. The commitment is that the kid and other teams must stop engaging in any further recruiting activity. Next step is NLI signing day 2-1/2018.

He's done the lists for several years and had always been club agnostic. Someone else is trying to spin it into something more. It's a list. People can interpret it how they want. I see no need to separate by club

As for what %age of club players it represents it's hard to say. It's certainly higher than the total number of boys playing HS but still a small #. See stats resource below. It also will focused on top leagues and clubs. The odds of getting recruited drop exponentially as you move down the soccer ladder.

#2 - again also hard to say. However, a fully funded program will only 9.9 scholarships to divvy up as the coach sees fit across 30 or so players. It doesn't take a math genius to figure out there isn't much to go around

#3 - see #2. 50% on the men's side is doing very well. Anything near or above that is for studs and international players. Boys are more in the 25% or less category. However, a school can sweeten an offer with academic money which stays with you all for years if you keep a good GPA. More importantly, being desired by a coach can give you an edge over other applicants and result in getting into a better school than you might without soccer (within reason - you still need good grades, just not top grades)

In other words, for boys the # ain't great. Boys' parents face a sad reality at some point. These threads should be required reading for any family well before recruiting starts, even better in junior high so they can start saving more money and hiring academic tutors. The better the grades the better your options

Amen brother! Knowledge is power. Can’t fall for the club hype though.
