Colleges recruit international players every day. Why is that not the way back for them?

Not a sad state of affairs. They broke the law. Come on in with open arms....if you do it legally. A country is not a country without borders. Wish them the best and hopefully they can get back to college in the states legally.

He was a kid when he came. He didn't make that decision, his parents did and they weren't economic refugees but asylum seekers.

Once you get booted out for an immigration violation it can takes years to get back in, if ever. Even a less hostile administration doesn't look kindly at violators - doesn't matter if they were 100% law abiding, tax paying members of a community either
