I think that a lot of people thought they'd get lots of calls today but the reality is that it is a longer process and rarely will you get multiple calls on 6/15. Some kids get a bunch but the vast majority of kids, including ECNL/GA are not going to have multiple calls but twitter and instagram make everyone think that if you arent locked in to your first choice by the end of the day on 6/15 then you are a failure. Reality is many kids will find their schools over the next few months, and some won't be locked in until 12-15 months from now.Comment

Not this year.. My D had about 25 calls and another 25 emails on 6/15 but did it really matter? Nope, she had already targeted her 5 top schools and 4 of them reached out. The other schools received a polite thank you for your interest replies. Point is, doesn’t matter how many reach out, it matter which ones reach out. She had been told there were 3 interested. Got a hello from one but no mention of setting up a call or anything. Nothing from the other 2. So I guess she was fed 2.5 lies. Lol. You missed the first three words, “not this year” However, the timeline isn’t far off. She fielded 50ish communications within the first day. Of course she wasn’t able to respond to them right away because of school and activities but she definitely got back within 24 hours. The schools that she was interested in and had showed interest in her set up calls and talked about next steps. Offers weren’t made for months after. The process can be grueling and fluid, some schools were great at communication and others lacked. She became less interested in the schools that didn’t communicate clearly, we took that as less interested.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

Is it panic or practical? If you are shooting for programs like Duke and UNC and they don’t call then you can assume they won’t. Mid-majors will take longer to see how everything settles after the first round of commitments goes.
