NEFC/Scorpions/SUSA should be compatible matchups. Not sure about Select, but looks like they got beat pretty bad by NEFC last year.

Has the Select team improved since then?

They picked up a solid player from NE Surf but not sure what else. And no keeper that I know of so we'll probably see one elevated from their Impact team.

Seems like a better idea of elevating a goalie from a lesser team than having to play several field players in goal in a game like last year. Select GA's do not belong in the top division. Does nobody any good to see 5-0 scores all weekend.

Surf should be in the top bracket! This is straight favoritism to the “GA” tag that Select has!!!!

why? It's a PRE SEASON tournament that doesn't matter. This way it gives 2nd and 3rd tier teams like Select the opportunity to play up in a tougher bracket. Now how that works is a completely different story.

They are playing in a Stars tournament the following weekend. These thanksgiving tournaments—NEFC, Stars, etc.—are not important for any of the top teams.

They’ll be “tested” at ECNL showcases. Where college coaches are actually watching. And if you think that NEFC GA, Scorpions ECNL and the rest of them are looking at the NEFC tournament as anything but a useless tune-up, you don’t know how all of this works.
