“That was embarrassing watching SSS change goalies” poster…… really , stupid.

I think the worst part about switching goalies several times is how it makes an opposing parent feel. These girls are supposed to take this incredibly seriously even though none of them is going pro and they’re idiots for playing.

GK has to be the hardest position to find at U16. At the younger ages you can always try to convert an athletic player, but during HS, no GK, no chance.

Also, we have friends at select. They are doing the select event the weekend before. Only select impact will be at nefc.
You should ask your friends at Select, which age groups their pre-Thanksgiving tourney is open to. They’d tell you it’s 2015-2009 only.

Can you imagine being the SUSA parents driving up here over Thanksgiving weekend (the busiest travel weekend of the year) and having to play Seacoast & Select with no goalie?

Yeah I'd take a hard pass on that regardless of who else is playing. Before you know it these kids are gone to college. Spend time with your families, not at some mediocre soccer event

That explains things. Never seen a team with bigger crybabies for parents and total lack of knowledge. Screaming for a foul any time there was contact. Makes sense that most of the team hadn’t even begun HS yet and the rest are the leftovers that couldn’t make a better team.

Why do you have to go pro to take playing on a team seriously? Why do you hate competitive soccer is a better question?

For me as a parent on an opposing team it doesn't matter 1 bit if SSS switches goalies every 5 minutes it's the fact that SSS has to go thru this embarrassment every game when only a few short years ago every single SSS 07 parent bragged non stop to us every day how this 07 team was the best ulittle team in the country. By the way the OP is not making stuff up when my daughter's team played SSS 07 GA last spring they used 4 different "goalies" during that game and all of them were field players. Note to SSS..... I would recommend trying to find a goalie sooner than later.

I will say, for what it's worth, I thought SSS's midfielder was the best of the 4 goalies while their forward looked like she had never played goalie before.

I heard Stars Blue added two starters to an already loaded roster?

I was being sarcastic. My point was it is ridiculous that a commenter is obsessed with SSS switching goalies— who cares what an opposing parent feels? And the last part is meant for all the people on TS who cut down players because they don’t go pro or win at nationals— just bitter people who don’t understand someone genuinely liking the sport and wanting to get better.

Where are you going to find GK at U16? Looks like the filed players will be drawing the short straw to see who has to play in goal. I'd recommend drawing straws when the girls are already at the field because if you do it the day before the field player who drew the short straw may have a dead grandmother to attend to all of the sudden.

If they would show up at the NEFC showcase we would find out.

Well, no stars ecnl national teams blue or white are attending at any age group. Don’t worry, you can watch them all at SUSA in Feb or come out to Lancaster anytime.

Every ECNL team should be doing this. Adding and culling. It stinks to be on the the receiving end, but the teams that don’t stagnate and don’t remain competitive.
