Footy Podcast: Hello caller from Massachusetts, you're on the line. What do you have for us today?
Caller: Aztecs suck
FP: Do you mean Azteca, the stadium?
Caller: No, I'm talking about the North Shore team, they aren't in ECNL or GA so they must suck
FP: What on god's green earth are you talking about?
Caller: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts 2007 Girls Soccer Team Rankings. Don't you pay attention?
FP: You can't be serious caller
Caller: Damn right I'm serious. This is important stuff. I've been tracking results and doing rankings for years now, and I know the game very well. I've been following the game for over ten years now and no longer call them points and don't get excited just because the ball is kicked really high.
FP: OK?
Caller: So like I said, Aztecs suck. And so does Select. Don't even get me started on Stars White.
FP: I promise I won't get you started on anything. You sound like you wake up ready to start on your own.
Caller: My kid's on the baddest team in the land!
FP: Why do you think I, or anyone cares?
Caller: Like I just said...this is important stuff. I've got a whole Facebook page filled with pictures and there must be over a dozen likes for every photo. EVERY. SINGLE. PHOTO!!! Some have more than TWO DOZEN! So, obviously lots of people care.
FP: What is wrong with Americans?
Caller: Wrong with us? If you ain't winning you're just wasting time, right?
FP: Ummm...
Caller: So, everyone wants to be on my...I mean my kid's team. They are super awesome. And we kick butt out there, pun intended
FP: So you think that being on a winning team at 13, 14 years old means something?
Caller: Yes, it means they are a winner, and so am I. I'm such a winner I don't even slow down in the lot with my giant SUV for some of these kids. These losers can either get the fvckk outta' my way or I'll run their sorry azzes over. They are just wasting everyone's time out there.
FP: (Muted - Can we screen these calls better? This guy is a lunatic)

Wait, if this is serious? if so it's "and I seen Oh-Jay" hilarious.
QQ: it's a podcast? why wouldn't they just edit that out. Was it a livestream?

The difference between ECNL and GAL is that there is a good chance that NEFC could win the ECNL New England conference. There also is a good chance they finish 5th.

I alway heard speed of play was considerably slower in the GA as opposed to the ECNL. Has anyone seen both Stars Blue National and NEFC GA that can comment?

It seems like there is very little pressure on the ball from some of the GA games I've happened to watch. Not creepy dad watched at overlapping tournaments and such. GA seemed like a nice choreography with easy passing and lots of time. The ECNL games on the other hand seemed messier and faster overall.

Even Stars White or PDA White (who NEFC should beat) could be tough games if NEFC isn’t on their best game. Stars White knows how to grind out close games.
East Meadow and FSA aren’t teams NEFC would lose to.

Ga teams, many of them, like to play with it more and opt to build up. Doubtful a GA team could knock it around as much with so much pressure, but the game is nicer to watch.

GA teams definitely play a more measured, build from the back style of game which looks nice and is great for education, in particular at the ages of U12-14 where tactics are introduced. Unfortunately, most girls teams lack the technical ability to play this way under real pressure. ECNL teams usually play a faster, more high pressure style. With many of the better players now also moving to ECNL, you end up with those teams being bigger, faster, more technical and playing a lower risk style that pins slower teams back.
