In all cases it puts the departing kids in an awkward situation for sure. I've seen a few different methods from top players that have left. Some burn bridges on the way out expecting never to return, others are more open and upfront with the coach. System is total garbage.
Parents pay for a full year tuition and then just because they are leaving, coaches will bench kids and stop coaching them in practice.
Meanwhile new kids come on, start getting invited to practice or guest at tournaments even though they didnt pay. For teams that qualify for post season, how do they get kids to travel for GA or ECNL national playoffs if that kid already knows she's being bumped from the team?Comment

Yes it's an ugly business. But if your kid is a bench warmer why are you staying? No way I'd commit to traveling knowing that we were leaving - either by choice or getting cut. Not at the 2007 age. The number of teams in the playoffs expand at U15. At U14 it’s a pretty limited pool. From the north east I see PDA Blue, CFC, SUSA, Match Fit & World Class currently in the top 32 spots that make it.Comment

I honestly don't understand the GA's club choices. In three of the regions (North East, Mid Atlantic and Southwest) the games are drivable, so that's all good. But in all the other regions it would be constant flying for league games. Look at the mountain-west conference. My God. And the SE conference goes from south Florida to NC.
