in all honesty it's sad. We all are getting old. I remember NEFC and select's u-little dominant teams just a few years ago and now.....it's a distant memory..... as the kids are growing up and heading off to different clubs and leaving both teams much much weaker :(

Now do you see why NEFC will never get ecnl? They would attract players if they got an ECNL badge rather than lose them.

I mean, it's all relative right? At some point there will be a compromise. You take the coach who is slightly less proficient or the club that is less convenient in exchange for having 400 college coaches at a showcase for the league that you are more confident will still be around when you are looking to connect with colleges.

sad?? really??? How is it sad when u-littles select and nefc would always run up the scores at U-10 and U-11? My d's team would always lose to select by 8+ goals and we had to deal with obnoxious select parents talking like they had the best u-little team in the country. Hey select parents what are you saying now??? 3 07's gone!...hopefully many more to follow. Karma is a b*tch.

Ha ha. You don't need 400 college coaches at a showcase. They aren't walking around with a window shopping.

All you need is the attention of the schools you are interested in.

We've been to several showcases in various leagues; 99% of the coaches there we have no interest in.

Agree on this point. The fact that coaches show up to games means almost nothing. Unless you are interested in that school and they are interested in you. A D1 coach shows doesn’t show up to a game hoping to find a player, rather, they are there to watch someone they are already interested in. This fallacy that a middle of the road ECNL player has some magic pathway is great marketing

That team is finished because Select will not attract any quality players from outside the club. $4,500+ to play in a really bad league. Nope.

Then how do you explain 90% (and that's not hyperbole) of ECNL players going on to play in college? Essentially every kid who wants college ball on that platform gets college ball.
