As someone who has a player in this age group far removed from The List I find it interesting watching all of this play out. My sincere hope is that all the league bashing and chest-thumping I read here is either club staff or if it's real parents that it's limited to this forum and not done in front of the players. I say this because what is in the process of happening at Stars, a near full blow up and rebuild, can and will happen at any club or college team. You can count the number of players in the state that are really "safe" on your fingers, no need to take your shoes off...so better to teach your player to have humility regardless of their ability level and to respect other players/leagues/clubs because you never know where they are going to end up.

Yes.yes.yes to everything you said. It’s mostly all club staff. Stars staff to be exact since most of the chest thumping is from the Stars and ECNL mob. No way do the parents behave this way.

Many kids that left their original club a few years back in hopes and probably false promises may soon want to go back if they are being moved down to regional. If so, so be it. All the moving around/transition for kids at this age is not easy and could very well what leads to many just quitting. It becomes too much about parent egos not about the kids.

I'm ok with the anonymity here (at times, other times not so much) but it would be helpful if people had to choose account names at least so we would be able to see that it's like 3 individuals doing the 90% of ECNL fanboy / Select bashing. (or see if it is 100+ but my guess is the same 3)

Not a single one of those girls should be playing up. No one should unless you are a unicorn, which none of them are. They would be better off playing on their age appropriate teams. Not sure why they were ever allowed to play up in the first place.

This statement here is poetic. I hope all those Stars parents who thought their kid was safe because Stars would be loyal learned a hard lesson. Sometimes the unknown quantity is better than the known. Unless you drive a stud to practice everyone can be replaced, I feel bad for the kids but hopefully the parents can now handle the demotion gracefully.
