If the last few big name clubs (Top Hat, FCV, etc.) leave for ECNL in the next couple of months, wouldn’t SSS & NEFC be better off just staying local to play in a league with clubs like Aztec, Liverpool & SPOL.?

You are traveling to CT, NY & NJ to play lesser quality teams (Oakwood, LISC, Cedar Stars) and what you’d face at showcases half way across the country (Harbor Premier, Bridge City) are certainly not as good as the local team. I don’t get the appeal.

I have to say I agree with this. There are some very strong DPL teams in 07 bracket that would be better competition that the teams NEFC is playing.

Surf, NEFC, NECFC B, NEFC NS, Aztec, SPOL, Liverpool, Bayside, Select & Seacoast would be a good group and a nice alternative to ECNL.

If a team really feels like the local competition is not challenging enough, why don't they just move up an age bracket, or two if really necessary, rather than joining a league with crazy travel times which still has some teams that aren't providing enough competition?

1. the CRAZY!!! Bayside parents
2. the cockiness of NEFC parents
3. the snoodiness of select parents
4 .the cluelessness of Surf parents
5. the insecurity of Aztec parents
6. the...well....the...of obscurity of Liverpool parents

what could go wrong with this scenario and when you throw in club directors with agenda's this would be a sign of total and utter disaster. This league would last shorter than DA did!!

its always "alot of fun" being a parent of a girl that plays Bayside. For me my vote is to keep Bayside and their crazy parents locked up in Rhode Island. Thank you very much!

I have to chuckle when we talk about teams and experiences that occurred at the start of this thread. All (okay... well most of) those crazy parents have moved on to other teams... perhaps yours?

Really? Not a Scorpions parent but I find them to be the least vocal on here by a country mile. And since most of us seem to agree they "won" the fall they could've been on here in droves. And I don't recall many Stars posts battling for bragging rights with Scorpions. Many more White vs Blue posts than Stars vs Scorpions.

I think that battle is over. It unquestionably is - at least for those who are aiming for college. But that doesn't mean it's the right route for everyone or that all the best players play ECNL.

Looking at the spring schedules. New season kicks off for all five list teams March 6th & 7th:

NEFC v. NYSC & LISC (in NY)
Select v. Cedar Stars (in NY)
Scorpions v. PDA & World Class (in MA)
Stars Blue v. Stars White (in MA)

Anyone hear any news about how the GA & ECNL are going to handle the spring season? Can MA, NH, CT, NY & NJ teams travel state to state to play each other at this point?

Heard Stars had multiple players called into the U17 National Team camp... identified in Florida? Nice to see MA players getting the nod regardless of club. Hope the Spring happens and we see these players play!
