I believe by U-14 games are far more important. 3x of training during the week plus games every weekend at 1/2 the cost of select.....works for her!

Just received an email from south shore select this morning about tryouts next week. It says they have spots open on every team. Okie dokie....sign my daughter up. From what posters have said:

1. let me pay the highest fees in Massachusetts by far. 1/2 year at south shore select is a full payment at her current club
2. let my daughter play with 20 other girls on the 07 team
3. let my daughter play like 3 games in the spring. This fall she has played 15 already.

Sounds like a good plan-lol. Where do I sign my daughter up?!?!

Interesting that you throw JD in there when responding to discussion about lack of playing this fall. Pretty sure that for the 2007 age group, the 2 Stars teams have played the most games (regular season and tournaments) of any teams (Scorpions are probably similar)...

I’m talking about the inflated rosters, the A,b,c,d,e,f teams. Not so much about the games played. Covid has played a role in that and it’s not a typical year so you can’t hold that against anyone.

At least with JD for the money paid the girls get to play. Stars is 1/2 the price of select and Stars top teams have played 20+ games in the fall. Whereas select is double the money And they have played at most 6 games against sub oar competition- we all know the teams.

Why is it a negative for any club (NEFC, Stars, etc) to have several teams per age group. Are you saying that kids who are not on the top teams shouldn’t have a place to play? Other than Select, what top 2007 teams have inflated rosters? The numbers someone posted the other day ranged from 17-19.

Not at this age really. My kids team has a roster of 21 online but 3 play full time for 2nd team and we also have three long term injuries, so of that 21 we are lucky to show up to games with 14-15 players.

What's wrong with A, B, C, D, E, F...teams? Should only the top players be allowed to play club soccer? If there's a market for kids who want to play club at a more local level why is that a problem and why should JD or anyone else be viewed negatively for building a business around it?

Agree on the inflated roster point. They all do it to some degree.

Anyone wanna bet that select would put those 3 teams far, far, far away from their team. Even at U-14 select cares more about got soccer points than playing actual competition. Pathetic. 17-19 IS inflated

Then go into a 11v11 season with 13-14 players and see how well that serves you when facing better teams and injuries pile up. 17-19 is reasonable roster size unless you are still living the 9v9 fantasy of ‘07 parents.
