ECNL Regional league? Ha! You mean what was the Northeast NPL which was a very poor league. Well below the New England NPL (now NEP NPL 'A') and in some cases below NEP premiership teams. Please.

I think you are mistaken. On average, the N'East NPL teams did much better on the national stage than the New England NPL teams when they competed.

Not sure you realize yet, but by the time it gets back to normal, all of this won’t matter.
Players will have regressed back to pre club levels town soccer will fill the void.
Dorrance will be visiting Dudley youth soccer matches and Parlow will be at Athol

Haha, don’t you think that before you put regional teams in front NPL your national teams should convincingly win against local NPL?

Stop relaying on new talent and focus on developing players you already have unless you are not capable.

I don’t know what is true and what is not about GDA folding, but IMO if it does and no new clubs are let in I can’t see the top NEFC & SSS players staying in NPL long term. We’ll see I guess.

NPL has a chance to (once again) be a very competitive league with many college bound players. But you are right, the players with the most motivation to play "big time" college soccer will switch to ECNL if they have the means (financial, logistics, etc.).

I have firsthand seen some of these regional teams plays, and no doubt they would get beat on any given day by NEP NPL teams and probably some in the premiership level.

Agreed, that is likely true but i wouldn't expect a lot of movement in the 07 group this year. I'm sure some DA kids will want to switch clubs but i'm guessing more will stay put for the upcoming year due to a combination of uncertainty, club/team loyalty and the weird situation we're in with no practices/tryouts/clinics to attend.

Is it confirmed that Blackwell is coaching the 2007 team next year? Can anyone provide any feedback on this coach, good and bad?

Or- anyone looking to move teams? GPS is hanging on by a thread, and many of their players are looking for a new team. Stars already took at least three GPS players on the 07 team.
