The Girls 2007 Thread

Here is how I see it from last years performance and this years transfers.

1. NEFC DA-still the best team
2. CFC - very strong team with deep talent pool
3. SS Select-very strong and didn’t lose a beat, will contend for the top spot
4. FC Stars a- has to prove themselves but has a very good core
5. SPOL-perennial very good team but not deep, made fade in 11v11
6. GPS- faded in the spring but has some good talent and a deep pool
7. Bayside- good talent that came on well this past spring
8. LFC-good team but not deep may have issues transitioning to 11v11
9. NEFC b- deep organization that will field a good b team, bad spring
10. Scorpions- still developing but looked weak in summer tournament

Honorable mention: FC stars b, Seacoast, Oakwood, Aztec

Only major call out is that Bayside got dropped from the top division following poor performance so would be hard pressed not to slide them down to the 10 spot. For those who hate the list don’t worry it’s comlletely irrelevant as only a few teams will play each other since everyone is in different leagues and divisions this season. Best test if you hate the list is Stars Cup as most will be there, however, half these teams won’t even be slotted in the top division there due to other out of region better teams

List is wrong

No mention of the NYSC Girls 07? Or Clarkstown 07 girls? Clearly the two best Girls 07 teams in the NE.

The list is flawed when you omit the two best teams.

Those teams are too far away. Everyone knows about Clarktown 07 but that is not relevant to this thread. Also NY SC is a good team but not top 2 in the entire region.

Anyway.... back to the list. I have to say you are underestimating the scorpions national team... half are solid new pick-ups they will do much better than the bottom of this pile (and that tournament they played was not the national team). Bayside had some solid 11v11 games at the end of the season but similar to other clubs with no DA or ECNL path forward, some jumping to the fame and glory early.

That puts the NEFC, Scorpions, Stars, CFC and now SSS at the top of the list of 10...

Handful of strong players from Liverpool & Bayside are now on the Scorpions ECNL team. Will take some time for the group to gel, but the talent is there.

The summer tournament was a mix of kids from two teams. Wouldn’t make any judgments, good or bad, from that.

If you are talking about CT, NY & NJ teams, PDA Heat (ECNL Blue), Clarkstown, World Class (ECNL), SUSA (ECNL), Ginga, NJ Stallions & NY Red Bulls are better than these MA teams. East Meadow (ECNL) & PDA Shore (ECNL White) are decent as well.

Why is it called or are you calling it scorpions national team and not just ecnl?

OMG--relax... they re-named NE Girls NPL. Its now called ECNL regional. same teams, same schedule, but the clubs don't have to pay the NPL fee...
