Such a sudden demise. Really. Look at the 07’s. They were 1 of the premiere teams in the nation just 13 months ago now they are a below average team just looking to get into the GA playoffs. Sad… but very true.

NEFC 2007 was never “one of the premier teams in the nation.” That is just ridiculous. They were a very good u-little team in New England U10-U12. That was before the ECNL clubs started to consolidate talent at U13/U14 and especially U15. Same goes for Select. At least Select constantly ventured out of state to do the big tournaments (Jefferson Cup, NCFC Showcase/Spirit Kick Off/PDA tournament, CFC, tournament). NEFC always stayed home and played SPOL and the other local teams.

1) Sage posters who have been here before have told you it all change as kids approach the HS years. Puberty, changing interests, some studs become average, and the biggest: once a few top players leave the team changes. Also all it takes is 1-2 leaving for the rest to start to panic

2) The club is shackled with GAL and worse its NE GAL You can tell familes "its all about the coaching" but they see the poor competition week in and week out. If they want to bail this is the time.

Doesn't mean the club is finished though. Just a top club in the league. They can do just fine in that position

Yet 06 and 08 continue to thrive, we will see how 07 shakes out next year…. And Stars continues to try to swipe GA players, thats very telling when comparing who develops and who recruits.

You do realize most of the strong players on the 2007 teams came from outside the club, right? SPOL & SSS for starters.

Most? Is 2-3 most? Ok then.. most parents seem like club hoppers, 3 clubs in 3 years is telling. This won’t be their last stop

There’s “thrive” and then there’s “thrive against truly terrible teams playing truly terrible soccer.” Clearly you haven’t watched any of the 08 games. These teams NEFC had played are only slightly better than MA town teams.and NEFC has been playing down to their level. It’s gross soccer.

Lol…. Someone is a little upset about another clubs success. A few pages back someone was raving about LF and they cleaned them up. Wait… the 08 Stars team is sucking wind so try to pull other clubs down, maybe you can take some recruiting notes from the 07’s. NEFC ENVY

Yup, considered it myself. At the end of the day I understand and accept GA is not as deep across the country, I also understand this has very little effect on my D’s overall experience. I’m choosing to stay with a good coach with competitive teammate and practices in a decent NE division.

I feel even better about this decision after seeing the volume of coaches in California.. and Jill Ellis for fun! Subject to change as things develop but things look good for next year.

What’s funny, some age groups are better than others. SSS, STA, NEFC, Oakwood (some ages) We also have some Stars White and FSA teams like every league…. Pretty competitive

It was SUCH a Beautiful Sight...
The End of the Tourney was upon us...
The Blood, Sweat and Tears were Behind us All...

The Sun was shining in the Distance.... the Blue Skies were strong and sincere... the Wispy, Puffy White Clouds had that Vanllla Sky tinge to them...

Yet, beyond the joyous sounds of full throttled Competition, we all heard it....

The Whoosh of those Green Energy Wind Turbines... the Hum of those Prius and Tesla Electric Cars owned by the Parents of these Darling Little Soccer Cherubs... Their Carbon Footprints Negligible to the Enviornment at this Pristine Soccer Meadow

A White Dove Fluttered past, Slowly dipping it's wings to all of us Endearing Parents and Little Soccer Players...
As this Dove floated by, it sang out in Joy, Peace and Love..

Is this Soccer at the 2008 Girls Championship Match or is it Something More....
Maybe, just Maybe.. This is the Flight of the Icarus..

At that moment, every man, woman and child grasped each other's hands, Gasped in Happiness and Slowly lowered their face masks and sang out in Joy and Glee....

There are no 2007 teams in ECNL anywhere near the level of Oakwood, Cedar Stars, LISC, Seacoast or Empire United. Not even FSA. And Stars White beat Select several times this year. U14 GA had NEFC & STA, that's it.

U15 the gap will widen substantially.
