Not a wild take but I can't see blue making that much of a leap in the first year they play the shortened HS schedule. They could be playing at that level by the end of the season, but will likely have some bumps getting out of the gate and be towards the back of the second group in standings -

Not unheard of. Stars blew up its ECNL team several years ago, just before the recruiting years were about to begin for that squad. It happens, and it's a bummer for the families who were assuming that their kids would be hot recruits and suddenly lost their spots. Also, the wave of new players included several kids who became the studs on the team. It also included a couple of kids who were wildly overrated, not nearly as good as the kids they replaced, and lasted less than a year on the team.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

Serious question. We’re there college coaches at the EDP showcase? My daughter got offered a spot on both EDP nations league team and a ecnl regional team. Which is better? Did the regional teams go to the same showcase as the ecnl teams in North Carolina?Comment

Regional teams did not go to the same showcases as the ECNL teams this year. Not sure if that may change moving forward, but I’m sure the regional coach can tell you that info. Yes the ECNL Regional team does the same schedule / travel as the National team.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
And sometimes the ECNL Regional teams get the overflow of National players who weren't able to play in that game.
Also I know of fewer players who went up from Regional to National than directly into ECNL National from outside the club or even from National down to Regional even.
But also I agree with the advice that coach and commute are huge considerations.Comment
