so what will parents do? I am afraid amongst each other they will say we are over it but then turn and be the first to sign up and pay. Pushing back only works if the majority do it.

Is your coach good? Is your child improving? Does your child have good teammates? Does your child have fun? If the answers are yes, stay where you are.

It's interesting to me that the consensus here is that the majority of GDA players at NEFC and SSS will automatically jump ship to ECNL. I guess the coaching and training at those clubs must not be as great as all of those parents have been saying all of these years. Remove that DA patch and suddenly the club that you loved last week is crap...

That’s only the consensus of the Stars coaches and parents mindlessly hammering away on their keyboards in their parents basements try to persuade the top players from those two clubs to jump ship and join Stars..

I think it’s just an assumption that some subset of the kids in those teams will value playing the best available competition over friendships or coaches. It doesn’t sound like a stretch to me.

I think it’s just an assumption that some subset of the kids in those teams will value playing the best available competition over friendships or coaches. It doesn’t sound like a stretch to me.

Believe me the mass exodus will happen. It did years ago when ECNL was created, it happend when GDA was created. Good players are going to get displaced by better players. The Purge is coming. 3 teams of “Elite” players in MA is more than enough.

Reality checks are in the mail and a lot of people are not going to like what they get.....

3 x 17 = 51. There are not more than 51 "elite" players in any given birth year in the state of MA. If everyone is Elite, no one is elite.

With 90% of the best 51 players concentrated on 3 teams you would give the top NY/NJ teams a run for their money.

It doesn't matter what you or I consider "Elite". By my metric, I'd say there's about 10 per age, at the most, but my metric doesn't matter.

Hence, it's debatable as everyone has their own metric. What matters is what those at the next stage consider. So, "Elite"...no....but...there are more than 50 players of similar caliber in MA in any given birth year.

And, yes, my larger point is one club that is ca$hing into with two club$ vs. another club who could compete in a $imilar competitive $tructure.

And for 2007's, not all that are "elite" right now will be when this group is 16/17 years old.... some will continue to improve, some will plateau, some will drop....
