People on this site are pretty well off base on how good the Blue 07 team is. My D (not on that team) has played against them, and against the other top teams in the conference and I'd say Stars Blue from a talent POV is right there with SUSA and WC. The bottom teams aside, the ECNL games at 07 are generally all very close with many one goal games and draws. Again my kid is not on that team, just saying what it is that i have seen over the past 2 years.

Where did they go? White or regional or other clubs? Is this the norm or were the 2007s an exception?

Ok, so where did the new ones all come from? And many clubs do this at at some point between 8th and 9th grade.

I’m confused. People on this site talk about how good Blue is constantly. That’s the entire theme of this thread. If you’re not on Blue, you might get to play 4 minutes senior year at a bottom D3 college. Maybe, no guarantees. A few people challenge the notion that they’re the only decent team in MA and one of their alleged competitors comes here to tell us how good they are?

          Yup, totally believable.

The way i see it, maybe some Blue parents and coaches talk themselves up, but you also have people from three or four of their competitors who talk badly about them. From a simple numbers game, the negative will always outweigh the positive when you take this into account.

FYI, I don't have a kid in this age group. No skin in the game.

2 years ago, 14 girls were cut from 07 Blue when GB took over as Blue Director. Not sure what kind of failure happened in the Blue pipeline that almost 90% of the girls who played Blue from uLittle through 8th grade (in JD's program) were suddenly deemed unworthy and sent packing. Or maybe those girls weren't so unworthy? Perhaps GB just needed to clear house for his politics (BBN parents have demands, after all) as well as new money. The spots were offered to a mix of GA girls (this was the year DA collapsed), other external players, and girls from White. The kids that were cut were sent to White or Blue Regional at the last minute.

Blue is no longer about merit. You could 100% trust that JD was all about winning, but note that he gets his 300k annually in salary. GB likes to win but needs the side hustle, so politics and money are the golden tickets now. Stars folk will argue this isn't true, that merit is still king. That may or may not be the case, but it sure ain't the perception.

But people talk bad about every team. How many insults get hurled at NEFC, Select, and Aztec? How come someone suggests Blue isn’t the only decent team in the state and one of their competitors runs to their defense?

Depends if you're talking the State or the Region. Blue is generally at least Top 2 in the State for every age group. In the region? Currently, only the 06 and 08 squads can make that claim though some others are still fighting to go to the playoffs.

So in the end you admit that your entire post is a hypothesis - fan fiction.

The team had vastly underperformed prior to GB taking over. Changes were needed. If GB was placing his ‘side hustle’ above his job (to win), he would soon find himself out of a job. He’s a young guy, I trust that he has a desire to stay in the business long term and won’t prioritize a few bucks of ‘side hustle’ over his career. And if you think JD isn’t involved, and is willing to sit back and watch Blue decline while he collects a pay check, you are mistaken.

You are welcome to look at the facts and arrive at your own conclusion. Other parents will do the same. And the FACT is that parents in the u11-u14 age groups are NOT going to Blue anymore. There is a reason for this, and if you think JD has not noticed the recruiting failures then you are mistaken.

I think you will find that each of those age groups will do just fine with their recruiting. Talk to parents from those teams. You will get a less biased story than what you get on TS.

Well, every parent's kid is an absolute "stud" and they're on the team, so...obviously the coaches have recruited just fine. Duh.

Atleast 4-5 of those absolute studs, on each team, will be replaced this year by kids that were recruited. The parents of the bubble players, know that their kid is a bubble player. They see all the kids at practices. If they were not lining up back up plans then that’s on them.

The blue team is still underperforming with GB as the coach.

The Scorpions 07 tryout was very well attended last night. Well over 80 girls were there and lots of different backpacks hanging up. I'm sure Nick and Evan were very happy!
