Not Aztec dad, but this was said just yesterday. Who do you think said this? You get it right I'll give you a STAR. You do realize kids and families do this for fun, right. You can compete with your teamates, develop and enjoy winning you know. If you can afford club soccer you can probably afford college.
That goes for Stars parents too.

USSF messed it up by not working directly with ECNL to make one, expanded top league that incorporated the top non ECNL clubs into one league with a better footprint, more organized events, etc. It was all right there and instead of working together they tried to destroy ECNL, and that had nothing to do with doing right by clubs or players.

And, actually, USSF DID try to work directly with ECNL and put it into one league. The issue was USSF wanted to be the top, to match their boys' program. US Club decided they didn't need them, so said no. That was their right. Someone needed to bend the knee and, personally, I would've rather seen the single entity be led by USSF than Club, but Club (for girls) had better standing and, frankly didn't need them.
What's your issue with GA trying to compete? There are many clubs who, based strictly on merit, could be a part of ECNL but they don't want the competition. Again, their right, no complaints. So your solution is that those clubs should just punt to them and send all the talent away from their clubs?
If you want to blame USSF, blame it for when they ignored the girls originally, not in 2017.
