After having played both NEFC and SSS, SSS is the better of the two teams. They played a nicer style of soccer and their defense and center mid were legit. NEFC was more physical, SSS played smarter.

Not Aztec dad, but this was said just yesterday. Who do you think said this? You get it right I'll give you a STAR. You do realize kids and families do this for fun, right. You can compete with your teamates, develop and enjoy winning you know. If you can afford club soccer you can probably afford college.
I don’t think you’re reading this correctly. The person here is saying that instead of making lists and getting riled up over team results, you should 1) understand development/visibility is more important, AND/OR 2) trust that your player is enjoying it. Scholarships and fun both are independent of team trophies and parent “Our club’s better!” nonsense. In either case, the obsession here with team rankings is sad, but especially for 07’s.

That goes for Stars parents too.

Yet for reasons unknown Stars parents spend an obscene amount of time and energy putting down teams in lower leagues.

Blue parents. Stars White takes as much of a beating in here as anyone.

White Star Line never really recovered from the Titanic sinking. Honestly, they earned any condemnation coming their way.

Five top teams, all playing outside of MA, none of them playing against each other. #broken system

Stars ECNL teams are at a college showcase. Blue will play last year’s ECNL finalist and last years champion in front of plenty of college coaches. Like it or not, that’s why players choose this league (same with GA). There are plenty of local options for players that don’t want the travel or are not interested in college soccer.

3 play each other in one league, 2 in another. Sometimes they can get a chance at crossover events. USSF messed it all up in 2017.

How did USSF mess it all up in 2017? ECNL was already in place and already had separated themselves from the common folk.

Because at least back then NPL was also in US Club and it was clearly the #2 league. Everyone knew that ECNL was absolutely the top. USSF started DA as the new top league and even after running away, the GA continues to work towards being a rival.

USSF messed it up by not working directly with ECNL to make one, expanded top league that incorporated the top non ECNL clubs into one league with a better footprint, more organized events, etc. It was all right there and instead of working together they tried to destroy ECNL, and that had nothing to do with doing right by clubs or players.

So, ECNL was already separated. No change today.

And, actually, USSF DID try to work directly with ECNL and put it into one league. The issue was USSF wanted to be the top, to match their boys' program. US Club decided they didn't need them, so said no. That was their right. Someone needed to bend the knee and, personally, I would've rather seen the single entity be led by USSF than Club, but Club (for girls) had better standing and, frankly didn't need them.

What's your issue with GA trying to compete? There are many clubs who, based strictly on merit, could be a part of ECNL but they don't want the competition. Again, their right, no complaints. So your solution is that those clubs should just punt to them and send all the talent away from their clubs?

If you want to blame USSF, blame it for when they ignored the girls originally, not in 2017.

Even if they were in the same league, they wouldn’t play each other every weekend. Travel would still happen.
