That's been stated. Top players have been on coach radars even earlier than this. No contact doesn't mean nnot watching and putting on/taking off lists

Yeah , that is an impressive list no doubt, but GA worked out just fine for DD and all of her teammates in terms of college exposure and signing. If the kid has talent on any decent ECNL or GA team, coaches will find them. But sure, if you are on a team that is struggling and the kid has to do a lot of self marketing then going to where a whole lot of coaches are might be a better option.

Here is my concern about GA. When DA collapsed, a lot of the older girls stayed put for various reasons and rode out the first two years of GA, and they were probably fine. However, with the 2007 and younger ages, the GA is now nowhere near where the DA was. Over the past two seasons, in order to have a viable national league where travel isn’t unworkable, the GA has added 30-40 clubs that are just pure filler. NPL or EDP level clubs. Aside from the 6-8 clubs that will always make Champions League (which are ECNL level) I just don’t see a quality difference between GA/DPL/NPL. I see the 2007 teams in our area (Aztec, Select, Juventus, Bayside, Liverpool, Oakwood, Seacoast, NEFC NS, etc…) as being pretty comparable. While kids will still be recruited from those leagues, I think they are starting in the back of the line.

It’s a valid concern. Not where the GAL is today, but where it is trending and where it will be over the next couple years.

On a side note, I never understood why the ECNL just doesn’t take the remaining top GA clubs and just crush the league?

Because there isn't much of a difference between many in GA and the rest. But there's also overlap between some GA cubs and ECNL. Dividing lines on the pyramid aren't carved into stone. And truthfully once you get beyond the top 100-150 college programs there's a big drop in quality as well.

Pick a team and coach that are a good fit for your player, doesn't have a long commute, works for your family etc. Somewhere where they will be challenged but not struggle. Being a benchwarmer on the A team won't help their development or confidence

I can’t imagine looking at this list of coaches and as a GA parent asking if we are making the right decision. This list is the answer to all the debates.

Always the GA you have. Made a bad choice. So if all GA kids went for Stars …some kids would get displaced. It’s ok to just let it go people play where they play and no team is a perfect situation.

Because all clubs go. It's a national event, not one of the regional ones sprinkled around the country. A club would be crazy nor to go because their parents would kill them.

They are which is what the poster referred to. Mandatory, as is the June national event. Clubs can pick and chose among the others based on what works for them. Also like they said you'd have to be crazy not to go in terms of missed exposure and parent backlash

There are a bunch of events around the country and every club has to attend two. Look at the team lists. Lot of east of the Mississippi teams for the Florida event, opposite for the AZ event.

I believe the FL & NJ events are two of the biggest, aside from the end of the year playoffs.
