It is all about academics. And after four years at college, which will fly by just as fast as U-little club soccer did, you will be the one to learn that harsh truth. If you are chasing scholarship money then hey, can’t help you with your poor people problems.

For rational people it is. Not all soccer parents are rational. They can't get over that precious Emily isn't on a full ride to Duke or UVA.

For smart rational people it is finding a college with both. But some folks are delusional and don’t realize how hard getting seen is let alone being recruited.

Given the mess in Florida and flight cancellations right now, any chance ECNL FL gets cancelled?

Not unless the league cancels and they'd only do that if a ton of teams bail out. That's very unlikely. Rescheduled games? For sure. Lord knows the state of FL won't close anything

Infection doesn’t correlate into hospitalization,so no they will not cancel.

Especially among kids of sports age. Minimal risk.

Just hopping not to get stuck there with a positive test or a flight cancellation just as school and work are starting up again.

Fortunately it's post holidays so that will help some with the travel issues. There's no pre-flight testing requirement but if you got it you could always drive home so you don't infect others.

It's outdoor soccer and just limit your hanging out with others, mask up etc. Your biggest risks are talking with unmasked people on the sidelines, which isn't nearly as great as doing team dinners indoors. I was just in FL for work and no one is masking anywhere. Most workers are in restaurants, stores are but not customers

With the type of brilliant thinking up thread (hospitalization rates low, therefore no problem, only kills a few kids, therefore no problem spreading) we’ll be dealing with much worse omicron spread than we otherwise would. The Premier League is cancelling some matches but Florida won’t cancel the coveted ECRL matches.

ECNL Fl will happen. Boston area attendees will be the only ones even thinking about wearing masks outside.
ZERO people under 20 have died from Omicron in Mass. Yup ZERO. Rate of Hospitalization is 3 per 100K. If 99.997% assurance of safety isn't enough for you, well then I advise you to stop showering.

You're more likely to have picked up a case from your Uncle Fred this weekend than at outdoor soccer games.
