There are three Stars U16 teams. Presumably all three will lose players in 2010 to graduation. The three teams become two through graduation and attrition. Hopefuly there won't have to be cuts.

If you're talking mergers the only way to get a mega team would be for Stars and Scorpions to combine the best players. That will never happen.

That's why Alaska is number 1 in soccer!

It's way too early to even speculate what might happen, but I've never let that stop me in the past. Stars United has 18 players on their roster, 3 are juniors, 1 an 8th grader, the rest sophomores. Stars Rovers has 20 on their roster, 8 are juniors. Stars Athletics have 18, but their dates of graduation aren't updated. At present only one is listed as a junior. There is also a sophomore on the U17s. So how are you going to divide them up?

You are under the assumption that these girls want to move.

These kids aren't going to be around by that time. Kids do stop playing club soccer in favor of other athletics (for those for whom it is not their first spot) and for social reasons.

Agreed. I think you'll see a drop after the U16 season, but I don't think you'll see it happen for Stars United. Those girls are pretty dedicated to their sport and I say that not being involved with the team.

Completely agree. It will be interesting to see if any cuts are made going into next year and what sort of upgrades they are able to make.

There is no reason to think there will be cuts. However, they could add up to 4 to their roster and given the number of players that spend time out injured or making college visits or not around for whatever reason at this age, that might be a prudent thing to do. It's going to be hard to upgrade significantly

Based on the their performance this year maybe there will be changes on United and don't give me the crap about all the best players are on United (that's a parent of a bench player trying to justify their kid's spot on the team). A lot of them are propped up by the better players. It shows when they play the better teams.

So one would assume that the same could be said of Scorpions and Rovers? Since their performances have been worse than United? Or is this the only team you're targetting?

I thought United had a differnet set of standards than the Rovers when it came to winning? As a United parent are you completely satisfied at how this season has turned out?

I'm sure the Scorpions and Rovers would like to improve if they could find the players. The United team has the luxury of having a pretty good team as it's second team.

Has there ever been a player go from the Rovers to the United?

Sorry not a United parent. Just noting the hypocrisy. Face it every team would love to have an impact player arrive at their doorstep - including the three mentioned.

As an aside - I have heard that Scorpions and Rovers players can play other sports and that United players are not. If true (and I don't know) then any multi-sport athlete would have a decision to make before moving to United - from Rovers, Scorpions or elsewhere.
