NPL sucks. It's a $$$$ grab for large clubs. Daughter played NPL with Stars and received many broken promises from coaches regarding college recruiting. Most college offers come from less desirable acedemic schools.

Agree. Parents are bashing and very aggressive towards the girls their daughters are playing.

Here is the Northeast girls college commitment list. New England girls have similar or better lists. Looks like NPL is still a good route if your child is interested in college soccer. As for the quality education argument I have relatives who went to Yale as well as Westfield State and all have good careers that allow their offspring to play whatever club sport they want. http://www.nationalpremierleagues.co...0of%202016.pdf

Wait, are you suggesting that primary research with cold hard facts including the players Jersey number is "propaganda".

When the facts are irrefutable, question the motivation.
Classic rebuttal from an idiot with no substantive response. You lose.

What does that have to do with a "quality of education argument," whether in your personal circle or generally? Let's hope those relatives took a logic course, wherever they went to college.

A perfectly fine but not outstanding list - primarily D3s where grades matter more than soccer. Next year will be the last decent NPL list as most 2018 graduates will finish up recruiting this year and are unlikely to make a club change to ECNL or DA (if they are good enough) for their senior years. NPL will quickly drop to league #3 and will be a distant #3 behind ECNL and GDA.

Yes and don't forget that the ECNL has picked up quite a few of the better NPL clubs across the land, not just here.

The whole landscape will just shift up a level - best players and clubs (most) move up to GDA, creating openings in ECNL that will be filled by better NPL/other players. Too bad none of it will make a big difference - it's just spreading player and coaching talent even thinner and giving kids a new badge on the uniform

And what exactly does not making a big difference mean?

not the op but to me it means GDA won't do much to raise the level of women's soccer or the MNT. DA certainly hasn't moved the dial much on the men's side after almost ten years. Since not all top talent will migrate to GDA we'll be spreading talent even more thinly - particularly as it's adding another 70-ish clubs. The clubs and coaches are the same as currently (with the theory that better training will make them better coaches). They're literally re-arranging deck chairs. Finally NT level players need something more specialized, either through a residency program or other, and GDA isn't the solution to make them better players. Since that's all USSF cares about you'd think they would do something to better suit the players' needs. Instead they wanted to wrestle control from ECNL, the rest of the players are chattle.
