    College coaches leaving/fired

I've noticed a large number of colleges coaches have either stepped down or been let go this year. Is there anywhere that publishes who is applying for which jobs or is it private information?

I think that some state universities are required to post open positions for a period of time. But why would anyone publicly announce who's applying, even in those cases where a formal application is needed?

there's no incentive to publish who is being interviewed unless they think it would bring them some good press. no one cares about college soccer coaches. replacing the head coach at U Mich football? that's newsworthy.

Agreed that there's no "list," per se. The schools likely can't say anything for privacy reasons and the applicants won't say anything because they may not want their current employers to know. That being said there are often some pretty reliable rumors.

There's a thread here, which you and I have replied to, about just this subject. So, someone cares ;-)

Another A-HOLE on Talking soccer. Why do people like you feel the need to make comments like this? Are you such a loser in real life that you feel the need to comment like you did?

Who is the Ahole? I find nothing negative whatsoever in the poster's comment, just a fact. Sorry your feelings got hurt coach but the only people who care about college soccer coaches are the coaches themselves, their players and their schools.

And, fans of the school, potential players, and others interested in the game.

Like...you could say the same thing about Wolverine football.

Weird. People talking about news related to talking about soccer on a talking-soccer message board, yet you comment on who is interested....

On another note, I was looking to see about how to best plane down 2'x8' pine slab I have. Anyone have any ideas? Since, apparently, talking about soccer doesn't interest you, maybe this will??

You're forgetting the families who have children who may want to play for those schools. FWIW, one of the best youth coaches I've seen in action with my kids was a former college coach for a well-known local University.

In my family we live and breath soccer. I could care less about college football, basketball or any sports other than soccer. Same goes for pro sports. Go watch the American version of Rugby and stop trolling a soccer board.

Wow, you really are out there. Funny how you pretend that you aren't the poster of the comment. You do realize that the name of this site is Talking Soccer, not talking Football??? So, the vast majority of the people on this site would be much more interest in a college soccer coach then they would be about a football coach. And no one said anything about the post being negative. Just said that you were and A-Hole for questioning why those of us on Talking SOCCER were interested in SOCCER coaches.

                            Don't feed the trolls.

My usual response to typical American retards who love to knock soccer and promote football is to remind them that the 2 highest paid pro ballers in the world are soccer players.

They don't realize it yet, but American football is dead, the carcass just hasn't started to stink yet. Youth participation is way down and will continue to drop as more info comes out on the concussion/brain damage fiasco. Same goes for NFL viewership and ratings. The latest NFL settlement for retired players impacted by brain damage will do nothing to stem the decline. Lower youth participation and lower ratings mean the pipeline shrinks as does the money...
