The GPS team that won the NPL last year was skilled but not very big. Size matters to D! coaches. DM from that team committed to Northeastern, I think, and he was one of the larger kids on the team.

Money buys the best teams, pays to fly you to the top tournaments where you can be seen by the best scouts, and pays for expensive ID camps to lock up negotiations. Now it's paying for a top notch school. Nobody should be surprised here. Kudos to GPS. Cut throat but very good for bragging rights.
On a side but related note, I love to here the blowhards talk about desire and internal motivation. There is a fundamental confusion between 'internal' and 'internalized'. Kids from families of athletes and prominent athletes internalize the desires and values of their parents. Nothing intrinsic about it.

And while we're on the topic of unrelated concepts. Many of the world's best athletes (especially soccer) came from very difficult circumstances. They used the desire to better their situation as in intrinsic force with which they surpassed every elitist having things handed to them on a silver platter.

And yes I do agree with you. But let's be realistic... none of these kids will be on a national team or play for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or even the "great" Bayern... But, please don't deny them their ability just because you think they are elitist... AND... A lot of those kids don't fall in that category so don't judge with generalizations...

I'm wondering if all the GPS players mentioned are from the same team.
Some other commitments I heard of are WT from Seacoast to Colby and MK (goalie) from Aztecs to Middlebury.
FC Stars must have several. Heard that their forward, I, was going to BU.
Blazers probably have a bunch too.
