Especially that last sentence. The overwhelming majority of the the best players were in DAP in the early years, before the HS ban. Certainly, DAP still gets the lion's share of those players, but in my view, the share is lower than it used to be. There are some kids in DAP now who are real head-scratchers.

That will get worse once EPNL gets rolling. Boys will finally have a good option that won't require giving up everything else. Besides, if you're not a DA starter or haven't trained at an international program, or played for a pricey prep school the chances of landing a good D1 spot is pretty slim. Pay-to-play DA clubs are going to take a hit; free MLS will be fine. They always have the better talent for the most part anyway, even the Revs

Fewer American boys getting recruiting to D1 programs. Euros taking over American men's college soccer.

              Ain't that the truth.

                Not just at D1 either...

But yeah - DA is working! Brining our players up to international standards all right!

Class of 2017 is full of duds. Kids who made D1 will likely never see the field except maybe a couple of the DAP kids.

OP here. The list is a comparable size to other years so far. It will need to double in the next few months though.

Why do it when in a few years time, you just end up showing that most of the kids don't play D1.
Putting their names on this list in most cases just lets us know they are attending school there.
Shouldn't you spend more effort on the kids that are actually playing at these schools?

The OP does - he tracks each player/graduating class. Use the search feature to look for similar titles with the year and skip to the last few pages of each thread. the OP shows what %age play a lot, a little, don't play at all. He puts a lot of time into it and it's much appreciated. If you want more than that you're free to donate your time

Amazing. You thank the guy for all the work he has done over the years by being presumptuous enough that he should have done something else. Why don't YOU do that?! And btw, the OP regularly HAS done what you suggest in follow-ups.

Clearly you're a new dbag to TS. OP has been tracking graduating classes for several years, including what you are talking about (and yes many of them WON'T be playing by junior year). It's one of the most informative things about TS and should be examined by all boys' parents who think their son has a shot.

OP here. I have hoped that by showing the upcoming classes what is happening with 50% or more of the kids not playing and dropping off the roster that folks would see that and make better decisions. I have tried not to dictate. It would be pointless anyway. But I would wish for classes to come to see only 15-20 at most D1 players per year, so that so many kids would not face such disappointment.
