I just don't agree with this. They have the stadium the professional team the fields and the constant pipeline of ludlow soccer kids. You sprinkle in some kids from out of town and they will be able to continue forward. Yes they took a hit with the dirty tricks AS played, but I believe they will be able to remain relevant.

All that means nothing without coaching. Any decent coach WUP had is now gone. Dream on. It is only a matter of time.

Welllllll you're wrong here again. They were able to retain their best coach in JM. They did lose a few coaches but besides AS they were mid level coaches at best. And even in the case of AS half the boys/parents liked him, half didn't. Again let's be real here, it's not like NEFC or GPS is marching our coaches that are world renowned guys. Let's stop the bashing and be honest. Each club has some great coaches each club has some questionable coaches.

That's the problem. Mom and dad think a D level player will transform into a scholarship prospect. I hear all the time from crazy regional satellite team parents that their kids is going to get money in school. The parents with kids on ecnl/da teams know how hard it is to get that.

Lets be real, very few people ever expect to get a scholarship out of this, they just want to get their kid up to the next level compared to the next kid. In towns such as Ludlow this is an obsession. Soccer there is king and if your child is not on the top team then they are worthless.

Lol. Name one ludlow kid that's on a clubs "top" team? And I don't mean reginal top team unless that's what ludlow's aspiration is.

Only speaking about the girls side:

There is zero top level teams left in the west with the likes of stars 02 & 03 splitting up and/or leaving for oakwood. Have fun in nec league next year

Not true, 05 and 06 girls had good years too. Not sure how many stayed together but there is talent in the west, just proportionate to its size

I think that was what the poster was getting at. NEFC West promises academy pathway but we all know that's not an option for 99% of west players. Parents bit on the con.

The other part of your post, I don't think you give West coaches enough credit. Boston coaches aren't superior just because they are from Boston area so stop the nonsense.

What con?? A player from Westfield and one from West Springfield just made the NEFC DA Boys 2004 team and that is just what I know of, there are probably more.
